Police ID HS Senior Killed Near Elementary School Parking Lot

An investigation has been launched by police in Prince George's County as they investigate the fatal shooting of an 18-year-old near an area elementary school and community center.

District Heights resident Kendall Batson was found suffering from a gunshot wound shortly after 6:30 p.m. in a parking lot in the 2300 block of Ritchie Road, according to officials.

He was taken by paramedics to an area hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

The shooting was reported near North Forestville Elementary School and North Forestville Community Center.

No suspect or motive has been identified by the police.

The investigation into the fatal shooting is ongoing.
